ï The Woodstock Arts Center is celebrating the  the life work of Mary Jo Yales, an award-winning water color artist from Woodstock, GA.  This open-to-the-public exhibit includes original paintings and giclees spanning all her expressive years in art. The opening reception will be held on Sept. 5 from 6 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the art center, located at 205 Arnold Mill Road. The display continues through Sept. 30, Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Fridays, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m; and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Some artwork is available for purchase. and Saturdays, 10: 00am - 2:00pm.  • The Falany Performing Arts Center at Reinhardt College kicks off its "Year of the Mediterranean Region" with the Mosaic Dance Theater Company in a dazzling array of dance works celebrating the rich dance traditions of the Mediterranean countries of the Near East and southern Europe.   Mosaic Dance Theater Company is a non-profit corporation founded in 2003, by the company's Producing Artistic Director Morgiana Celeste Varricchio.  The company has performed at several well-known venues, including  Lincoln Center. AUDITIONS

ï Auditions for girls and boys, teens, men and women for the Towne Lake Players non-equity productions of "A Christmas Carol" and "The Lazy Elves" will be held at Towne Lakes Art Center. Call (678) 494-4251  to make a required appointment.  Auditions are Sept. 23-Sept. 24 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.  All roles are available. There will be cold readings from the scripts. Prepare any holiday song that shows off your voice and bring a tracks/karoake cd or sheet music. A book of Christmas carols will be available.Resumes and headshots helpful but not required.Rehearsal times and dates will be posted on the Web site, www.tlaclive.org. CLASSES

• Classes for children and adults start Sept. 8 at the Cherokee County Arts Center. A special fall break camp for ages 5-11, Camp Imagine, is scheduled for Sept. 15-19. Full day camp costs $135 for member and $145 for non-members and will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Discount for siblings. Half day camp costs $80 for members and $90 for nonmember and will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Campers should bring a lunch. ‘The Velveteen Rabbit’


“The Velveteen Rabbit,” Margery Williams’ magical story of a boy who loves a toy bunny until it becomes a real, live rabbit, will be performed at the Towne Lake Arts Center, 6576 Commerce Parkway in Woodstock, Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m. and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. from Sept. 6-Sept. 28.
